Final Manifesto : Object vs Light
Humans perceive a fraction of the light spectrum created by the sun; and what we fail to see is dazzling. As light enters through glass, it transforms into a different quality. Whether it be a fine, sharp ray or a dispersed spectrum the result is different from the original. Surfaces and materials change the orientation of the light’s path and this is where my project comes in.
Through research and experiments I can determine the light’s path according to the material it passes through and with that I can alter the material itself to change the direction of the light. Reflection and refraction are the main tools in which these elements change and once mastered, can alter the spectrum itself. I design using my knowledge of the Light and Object to create a surface that enhances these qualities.
